Project title: CIRCit
Project description: The CIRCit* project will develop science-based tools and approaches, in close collaboration with companies, with the aim of enabling Nordic industry to transition to a circular economy. The project is divided into 8 work packages where my PhD encompasses 1 of these. (“Support the operation of circular products, services and solutions through intelligent assets.”)
I will look at how the Internet of Things (IoT) can enable such a circular economy. This boils down to the application of different IoT strategies, e.g. predictive maintenance. One of the key research challenges for these IoT strategies is how to ensure that sufficient security and privacy is maintained.
CIRCit* stands for “Circular Economy Integration in the Nordic Industry for enhanced sustainability and competitiveness”.
